Once in a lifetime     June 2002

Once in a lifetime
You will draw that first breath
Receive light in your eyes
Take the first step

Once in a lifetime
You get to be innocent and pure
Move shameless with wonder
No bad memories to forget

And somewhere in there
I'll experience something new
feel passions skin
Loves awakening

                             WITH YOU
                                WITH YOU
                                   WITH YOU
And maybe once in a lifetime
Get stung by rejection
Grieve a loss
Ache in despair
IF YOUR LUCKY YOU'LL GET MORE

Hopefully once in a lifetime
You'll figure it out
A moment of enlightenment

Find peace with no doubt

It's possible
You'll swim naked in the sea
Burn red in the Sun
Allow cool life giving water to flow around your tongue
Down your throat

On a desert river shore
Witness the tangled bleached bones
Of some limber pine at timberline
And realize how ancient life can be

And there is so much more
Before we take the last breath

ONCE IN A LIFETIME
